facial serums by La Bella Vita Medi Spa Inc. including C Brightening, Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid

We see our own face every day, whether it’s noticing ourselves on the computer screen during a Zoom meeting or examining our new lines and wrinkles in the rearview mirror while doing errands. In the world of Instagram filters and makeup hacks, we need to remind ourselves that true beauty is the character we bring to every room.

Why Your Skin Shows Signs of Aging

There comes a time when we have to accept that THIS is the skin we are in and we need to make the best of it. Over time, our skin starts to produce less collagen and elastin, which leads to fine lines, wrinkles, and sagginess. Thankfully, by adding our La Bella Vita Medispa medical-grade vitamin C, retinol and hyaluronic acid serums to your daily skincare routine, you can help slow down this process!

Let’s talk about Fountain of Youth’s perfect trio – Vitamin C, Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid

Vitamin C

The way Vitamin C works in our skin is to stimulate collagen production and aide in the protection against ultraviolet (UV) photodamage with its antioxidant properties. Collagen is the major protein that provides strength and elasticity in the skin; therefore, aiding in the skin’s regeneration process by helping to protect and strengthen cells. Vitamin C has been shown to brighten the appearance of skin, while neutralizing damage from free radicals. Ask us about our La Bella Vita Vitamin C Brightening Serum!

*Note: It is recommended not to apply vitamin C along with retinol (hence, why vitamin C is applied in the morning and retinol in the evening skincare routine). Vitamin C is an ingredient that requires an acidic PH to remain stable and can easily become activated by products such as retinol..

Retinol

Retinol is touted as a topical anti-aging miracle worker because it speeds up cell turnover, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and boosts collagen production. The end result, a smoother, fresher layer of skin!

During your first weeks of using retinol, you may experience dry, peeling and reddened skin. The key to introducing retinol into your nightly skincare routine is to start slow and work your way up so you don’t cause irritation. Our La Bella Vita Retinol Restorative Serum is enhanced with a revolutionary, time-released delivery system along with the antioxidant benefits of Green Tea Polyphenols and Caffeine USP to help prevent irritation while efficiently delivering results. Also, since retinol can cause skin sensitivity to sunlight, it’s better to apply it at night and wear sunscreen during the day.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid helps draw water into the skin, providing a plump, glowing complexion. It is produced naturally in the human body and is a humectant, which means it binds to water molecules to help retain moisture. Like collagen, you can find it doing its thing in the connective tissues of our bodies. Hyaluronic acid basically fills in the lines by going deep into the dermis to draw in moisture. By using hyaluronic acid, you can counteract some of the dryness retinol may cause, while still letting the retinol penetrate the outer layer of the skin. Ask us about our Ultra Hydrating Serum!

Your Perfect Skincare Routine

No matter what your skincare routine is, you always need to start with a freshly cleansed face. The proper application of these three products also differ between day and night applications, as you won’t be using the same products each time (see below). As noted above, our LBV medical-grade vitamin C, retinol and hyaluronic acid skincare products are serums. Serums generally contain a higher concentration of active ingredients with smaller molecules which penetrate further than creams.

Morning Skin-Care Routine

Step #1: Cleanse your face

Step #2: Apply vitamin C soon after washing your face, as it can increase the penetration of the product to help you achieve optimum results

Step #3: Apply hyaluronic acid after the vitamin C has absorbed into your skin

Step #4: Apply moisterizer, if needed

Step #5: Apply sunscreen before your makeup routine. Ask about our very own LBV sunscreen that is waterproof, weightless and safe to reapply over makeup without an oily feeling. Remember, wearing sunscreen is your BEST defense against protecting your skin from premature aging and skin cancer.

Evening Skin-Care Routine

Step #1: Cleanse your face, even if you’re not wearing makeup

Step #2: Apply retinol, avoiding eye areas and lips

Step #3: Apply hyaluronic acid

Step #4: Apply moisterizer, if needed.

Give your skin new life by using vitamin C, retinol and hyaluronic acid together. Even better? Our LBV skincare line is medical-grade, without the high price tags like the “big names.” As with any new ingredient/product you introduce to your skincare routine, make sure to consult with Dr. Turnure and our La Bella Vita Medispa staff.
