CO2RE Laser Resurfacing Treatment
This is our most aggressive laser resurfacing treatment. If you have at least a week of down time and want the most dramatic results this is the most optimal treatment we offer at La Bella Vita. Typically this treatment needs to be done in the winter months. This versatile laser performs a double fractional laser treatment. We can precisely target the skin’s surface, middle and deep dermal layers plus it can perform traditional CO2 resurfacing for excision of lesions.
This treatment is lighter, faster, and a more versatile solution for skin resurfacing and minor dermal excisions because the CO2 laser has the ability to treat both superficial and deep skin layers simultaneously with precision-control over the intensity, pattern and depth of the ablation. It is more costly and more down time; however, the results are far beyond anything we offer and it is typically only a one-time treatment.
Questions about CO2RE Laser Treatment:
Q: What will my down time be?
A: Typically about 7 to 10 days. The first few days are very red and swollen and the skin may secrete fluid kind of similar to a burn. You will need to remain out of the sun while the skin is healing.
Q: Is this procedure painful?
A: The procedure can be uncomfortable so we do perform an anesthetic block similar to one you would receive prior to dental treatment. Prior to your treatment we will apply a topical anesthetic and Dr. Turnure will also write a prescription for pain when necessary. Most patients do not experience significant discomfort afterwards, they just typically do not go out of the house for at least a week due to their appearance not being very presentable.
Q: What will happen to my skin after the procedure?
A: Since the procedure is a controlled burn your skin will slough off over time. In order to keep hydrated it is very important to use the post treatment skincare products that are given at the time of your treatment. Over time the collagen will rebuild and you will have much softer, smoother and better texture to your skin tone. Most patients say it takes years off of their appearance.
